About

Hey Girl! I’m Kim!

Welcome to my little corner of the inter-webs! I started traveling alone seven years ago. I was living in New York City working as a waitress and going through a painful transition period. Raise your hand if you know what it’s like to be the only single gal in your friend group?

You watch your friends move away, get married, and start their families. You dodge questions about your dating life like it’s your day job and you begin asking yourself “what’s wrong with me?” I spent way too much time scrolling through the gram and playing that deceitful game called comparison.

During that time, I wish I could say that I was becoming more awesome (like all those infamous memes) but I wasn’t. I was really lonely and tired of waiting for other people to do the things I wanted to do. That’s when I challenged my self to travel to my dream country of Spain…alone

And so it began.

The night before I left for Spain, I was so nervous that I stayed up till all hours of the morning reading blog posts about how to solo travel and even tried to convince myself not to go. But the next day, I got up and got myself on that plane.

When I got to Spain I was anxious, I was afraid, and I was alone. But eventually, I perfected the art of rolling my r’s, ate my weight in jamón ibérico, and made incredible friends that I’m still in touch with today. A solo female traveler was born.

I had such a good time I hardly remembered those moments of panic before the trip. There was no one there to tell me what I could and could not do. I did, saw, and ate whatever I wanted—when I wanted. The whole experience was an exhilarating rush that transformed my life.

Solo travel impacted me so much so that a few years later, I packed my bags and made Spain my home for three years.

The night before I left for Spain, I was so nervous that I stayed up until all hours convincing myself not to go.

The impact.

Solo female travel can change your life too. I’m so passionate about it that I’ve decided to make it my mission to encourage and help other women who’ve been bitten by that pesky travel bug but think they can’t do it on their own. I’ve been called everything from Carmen Sandiego to the traveling UN and I’m here to show you how you can do the same. Traveling solo has been one of the best, most empowering decisions I’ve ever made. It takes bravery, strategy, and organization but I assure you, you can do it!
